 New iPad

Today is the day! The long awaited new iPad is now available; is it worth the wait and upgrade?

A new display may not seem like that big of an improvement, but when you consider how important the display is on an iPad and that it’s the best display ever on a mobile device, it really is a big deal. With a million more pixels than an HDTV, a 2048 by 1536 resolution and amazing colour saturation, I can’t wait to see one! To ensure “pixel-perfect performance” the new iPad uses an A5X chip with quad-core processer.

Not only does the new iPad allow you to view stunning content, it also allows you to create stunning photos and 1080p HD video! The 5 megapixel still iSight camera features advanced optics with a ƒ/2.4 aperture, five-element lens, built in face detection that can balance focus and exposure across up to 10 faces and many more advance features you wouldn’t expect to find on a mobile device.

Combine this with the new ultrafast 4G LTE, iOS, the world’s most advanced mobile operating system, iCloud, 200,000 and counting apps and so much more and there’s no wonder people are lining up to get their hands on one.

3 days ‘till kickoff! Where will you be watching? WEM has all you need to prepare for this Sunday’s big matchup from Super Bowl memorabilia to game day hot spots to watch. Also some must-haves for your at home Super Bowl party.

Where To Watch the Game:

If you haven’t yet made plans yet, come down to West Edmonton Mall to catch all the action. Hudson’s Canadian Taphouse is kicking the event off with what they’re calling the “Ultimate Super Bowl XLVI Party”. Win prizes, play trivia games and even meet some Bud Girls. Contact Hudson’s for your tickets to the party. Details >>

You can also catch the Super Bowl at Ed’s Rec Room while you play a game of bowling or munching on some snacks in the 300 Club Lounge. Take advantage of the 5 to 7 p.m. menu special where everything is only $4.75. If you’re 18 years and older, you can sign up for a free Ed’s VIP card and receive 50% off billiards, 10% off regular priced menu items and $15 buckets of domestic beer. Details >>

Represent
Whether you’re cheering for the Giants or Patriots, you’re going to need something to represent. A few of our stores still have a few pieces left if you’re a last minute shopper. Jersey City, Champs and Game On Sports have a few jerseys, hoodies and hats left while Lids also has a few NFL pieces. For Patriots fans, check out Old Navy’s Superfan Collection. Grab a sweet graphic tee and cheer on your team in style.

At Home Party Essentials:

If you are planning to watch the game at home you may need a few classic items to make your Super Bowl bash that much more enjoyable and maybe even turn it into an annual event at your place.

The food
The Bay has a great selection of electric grills so that you can still have the perfect hamburger from the BBQ even in February. And if you are more of a low and slow cooker The Bay also has Crock-pots for pulled pork sandwiches, ribs, or your famous chili.

The drinks
When it’s a game this big you can’t afford to miss even one second, so don’t miss valuable game time grabbing drinks. The Brick has a couple options of mini bar fridges so that your drinks will be cold and easily accessible right beside the sofa.

Good luck and may the best team win!
