Over 160 years ago, a little apothecary in New York began their commitment to creating the finest quality skin and hair care products. Today, Kiehl’s continues this mantra and is happy to open up their newest location here at West Edmonton Mall on Level Two, Phase II.
The WEM marketing team had a sneak peak at the store and what a treat! We were welcomed by Mr. Bones, the Kiehl’s iconic mascot who serves as a reminder of the store’s traditions and dedication to science. The store itself is reminiscent of the Kiehl’s flagship store in New York’s East Village with replicated brick and wood floors along with an antique chandelier to illuminate the beautifully decorated store.
The Kiehl’s staff promptly took us under their wing and gave us all one-on-one skin and hair consultations. Whether we had dry skin, oily skin, dry hair, or a combination of ailments, we were treated to a sampling of a variety of different products to meet our needs. We were also given a bit of an education when it comes to proper skin care. For guys, they have a huge selection of items that are specially formulated for men that don’t have a lot of added perfumes. Guys are given the same one-on-one treatment as everyone else and the products are pretty sensational. For example, for those who want an all-in-one product, the Cross-Terrain All-In-One Refuelling Wash is perfect. One product for hair and body, no fuss.
A must-do in the store is to take advantage of the custom Kiehl’s photobooth (first in Canada!) where you have the opportunity to leave your mark in the store. Take a photo with friends or with your favourite new Kiehl’s product. Check out our photo below!
You cannot go wrong when you walk into this store. The friendly staff is there to help you find exactly what you need to take care of your precious skin. We walked out of the store with a whole skin and hair regiment that we were so excited to try when we got home. (For product reviews, visit the Beauty section).
To celebrate the opening of their newest location, Kiehl’s invites everyone to join Edmonton Oiler’s Darcy Hordichuk “Skate for the Cause” from 10:30 a.m. to noon, May 31, 2012 at the Ice Palace where 100 per cent of the admission price goes toward the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation. When you’re done, take a walk upstairs to the new store and “Shop for the Cause” where Kiehl’s will donate 100 per cent of the day’s sales to the Stollery. Either way, you support a great cause!
